A note from Dan
I'm a pastor in Ontario. I went to school for financial services and once held a mutual funds licence and a life insurance licence. Those licences are now lapsed, and ministry is my primary focus. Pastoral instinct comes first; credentials sit underneath. In mentoring, premarital counselling, and pastoral care, I keep hearing from men who are carrying more than they've told anyone.
The men I hear from aren't irresponsible. They're uninformed, or they're stuck, or they've been managing by feel for so long that looking at the real numbers feels like opening a bad test result.
